GivingTuesday India is organizing a campaign around the concept of global giving villages.

#GivingTuesday is celebrated in India in early October each year, on the Tuesday of #DaanUtsav. GivingTuesday India is organizing a campaign around the concept of global giving villages.
The idea is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi who believed villages are the soul of India. There are 600,000+ villages in India! This picture was taken from the Indo-Myanmar border by one of the NGO partners!

In a broader sense, our local community is our village, regardless of whether we are in a rural, suburban or urban area! People reaching out to people with kindness, care and compassion are universal! The pandemic saw an explosion of generosity in India and across the globe, beyond all boundaries!

Is this true where you live too? Comment below about what your village means to you or how your neighbours support one another. Is there a unique giving tradition in your area? Please go out and capture an image of an act of giving in your community and share it with the world.
