#EveryTuesday, we share an idea to show your kindness to the people or community around you! We believe your action will help spread generosity to make a better world!
Let us respect and value labour!
For many in India #StayAtHome has not meant better work-life balance! In spite of saving hours of commute, it is less sleep and more hours of work, yes office work plus hours of doing strenuous household chores, in spite of sharing housework with your spouse or partner. For most people, there is no more the luxury of having hot breakfast and a ready-to-carry lunch bag with multiple boxes packed to perfection as per a nutritionist's diet chart. The invisible hands that managed the kitchen and laundry, and looked after the plants and ensured everything was clean, shiny and in the right place; are not around. It was unthinkable of giving your home staff leave without replacement. For some it was an obsession to micromanage their time and ensure they had enough work to do even while going away on a work tour or holiday!
In between figuring out smarter ways of doing the chores, reflect on the value of these wonderful people who make your life so productive and comfortable. When you welcome them back into your home, may it be with deep respect. Honour them on their return and may it be a new beginning of treating them with respect for their hard work.
How about making a card, a certificate, a gift for your daily warriors? And, something special for them #EveryTuesday!
